This Friday: Happy Forgetting with Ruxandra Guidi

The Arizona-based journalist joins us at the Press Club for a conversation about forgotten histories and collective memory.

Hi there,

It’s Ann Marie Awad here, 1/3 of your ColoRadio crew. I’m really looking forward to our event this Friday, featuring Ruxandra Guidi, the brilliant creator and executive producer of the podcast Happy Forgetting.

The series is really good. It’s about the fight for racial justice, but more deeply, it’s about the stories that are told about those movements – and the stories that are forgotten. The pieces in this series are really diverse, with an emphasis on stories from the American South. They’re so rich, I almost don’t want to tell you too much about any one episode. As we witness a large scale concerted effort to erase these kinds of histories, there couldn’t be a better time to dissect the bigger questions posed by Happy Forgetting. I hope you’ll take a listen, and join us this Friday at the Press Club with your thoughts and questions.

Please RSVP here, and bring a friend!

Bestest,

-Ann

P.S., If you’re attending this week’s Collaborative Journalism Summit, you’ll receive a drink discount at the Press Club. I’ll also be speaking at the summit on Friday, be sure to come and say hi!
