THIS FRIDAY: Bree Davies' Podcast Journey

Hey folks, it’s me Ann,

I’m very excited about our guest later this week. Maybe you’re one of many Denverites who tunes into Bree every week to hear her empathetic interviews, smart takes, and near-encyclopedic knowledge of all things Denver. I’m not a big daily podcast listener, but City Cast Denver breaks through for me because I think Bree’s deep relationships and singular voice give the show such a concrete sense of place. A thing I’ve been saying a lot while I prepare for this conversation is that the show really sounds like Denver, right down to the theme music by local band Los Mocochetes.

To me, there is no City Cast without Bree and the secret sauce she brings from her years at Westword, her blog beginnings, and her love of local art and alt-weeklies.

This Friday, at 6:30 PM at the Press Club, join Bree and I for a conversation about her long and winding road to the podcast host mic. We’ll also listen to some impactful moments from Bree’s four years hosting City Cast Denver, and reflect on what it means to responsibly cover your community regardless of the medium.
