Save the date: ColoRadio April Event

Featuring the Denver Voice, written by and for unhoused Denverites

This April, our speakers series continues with a discussion from the team behind Denver Voice. As the city’s one and only street paper, the Voice is written for and by people experiencing homelessness. If you’ve lived in Denver long enough, you’ve probably seen their vendors selling copies outside a grocery store. For every copy you buy, they get a cut of the sales.

The team from the Denver Voice will share how they’ve approached their beat for the last 29 years and what other news outlets tend to get wrong about the unhoused community. They’ll also discuss how they’re collaborating with local newsrooms, including radio, to lend their lived experience and insight.

RSVP here to join us on April 25 at 6:30 p.m.

Thanks to everyone who made it to our event on Friday March 21! Biggest thanks of all to councilman Kevin Flynn for joining us to discuss his reporting, his recently re-released book called The Order, and the film adaptation released last year. If you want to hear more from Kevin and Josh about the story of The Order and the killing of Alan Berg, listen to Josh’s podcast The Order of Death.

(P.S. Josh’s other project – Low Orbit audio zine – just re-launched! Check out the newest episode!)
